NPR’s How I Built This and NPR Presents teams
Guy Raz is the host, co-creator, and editorial director of three NPR programs, including TED Radio Hour and How I Built This. Both shows are heard by more than 14 million people each month around the world. He is also the creator and co-host of NPR's first-ever podcast for kids, Wow In The World.
Previously, Raz was weekend host of NPR News' signature afternoon newsmagazine All Things Considered. During his tenure, he transformed the sound and format of the program, introducing the now-signature "cover story" and creating the popular "Three-Minute Fiction" writing contest.
Raz joined NPR in 1997 as an intern for All Things Considered and has worked virtually every job in the newsroom from temporary production assistant to breaking news anchor. As a host and correspondent, Raz has interviewed and profiled more than 6,000 people.
Ken Grossman founded Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. in 1980, with the goal of providing his customers with the kind of beer he liked to drink—hoppy, dark and flavorful. This goal helped spark the American craft beer revolution. His background in homebrewing, uncompromising approach to quality, and financial savvy helped him build one of the most successful craft breweries in the U.S.
Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.’s products are distributed in all 50 states and overseas. A second Sierra Nevada brewery opened in Mills River, North Carolina, in 2013, to satisfy growing demand and reduce the company’s environmental impact.
Grossman embraces a philosophy of environmental, social, and economic health that informs his business decisions. Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. is still 100% family-owned and operated, and Grossman plays a large role in the brewery’s day-to-day operations. Under his direction the brewery has evolved from one built with used dairy vessels to one of the most state-of-the-art brewing facilities in the world. The continued expansion of the craft beer industry challenges Grossman to hold true to the company’s spirit of innovation that helped change the drinking tastes of millions.
